As we welcome back guests to the hotel we would like to make you aware of some changes we have implemented.
Guest and Staff safety is our main priority.
Up on your arrival to The Claxton Hotel you will notice that we have many signs placed around the hotel, to politely remind guests to remember to Social Distance throughout the building for the safety of yourself and to protect our staff.
We have also installed Hand Sanitizing Stations at entrances, exits and at reception for guests to use as often as possible.
If you feel that you are experiencing any symptoms before or during your stay please contact us immediately.
Our Cleaning and sanitizing regimes have been highly enhanced throughout all aspects of the hotel to comply with Government and Public Health Guidelines. Upon check-in our staff will discuss the different options available for daily housecleaning, or give you the option to decline any if you prefer, the choice is yours.

Two Function rooms and Accommodation
A full range of menus are available starting from £3.95 per head with something to suit all tastes from bacon buns to pie and peas right the way through to a more formal sit down menu. Accommodation in Redcar and Cleveland, We have thirty bedrooms available at reasonable rates and six ground floor bedrooms for those who find stairs a problem, The Claxton Hotel offers great value for anyone visiting the Teesside and Cleveland area whether you are working away from home, visiting friends or family or on holiday.
Eating at the Claxton
Bar meals are served between 9am and 9pm and residents can also order room service between these same times. All food is prepared in a 5 star hygiene rated professional kitchen by staff who hold health and hygiene certificates.
Do you serve evening meals ?
We serve a bar meal menu from 9am - 9pm either to your room or in our dining room. We are also within walking distance of many local restaurants.
Can we have rooms next to each other?
If you book over the phone we can give you the information and arrange something most of the time, if you book through the internet their is no guarantee but we usually try to keep bookings together.
Can we reserve parking?
No, we have a small car park that operates a first come first served basis. There are public car parks close by and we also have a few parking passes that allow guests to park directly outside the hotel with a refundable deposit.
Can we bring a dog?
Yes, pets are welcome into the hotel and you room for a small changer of £8 per stay.
How far are you from the train station?
We are 0.9 miles from Redcar Central Station, around 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive.
Do you have a lift ?
No lifts, some rooms are on the second floor, please let us know before you book if there are any special requirements as we do have limited ground floor bedrooms available.
